They are also used as a raw material for the production of EV battery cases and are widely employed in other applications that require lightweight aluminum parts due to their corrosion resistance, strength, and durability. The manufacturing process of aluminum slugs begins with the melting of high-purity aluminum ingots in our casthouse and casting them into thin strips of various widths. These strips are hot- and cold-rolled to the demanded thickness before being coiled. The coiled strips constitute input raw material for stamping slugs on high-precision stamping machines. The slugs are then soft annealed and surface treated according to the customer’s requirements.

This step is crucial to ensure that the slugs meet the strict quality standards required by the end customers. The slugs are then inspected and packed in boxes or on skids before being shipped to the customer.

Using recycled aluminum reduces dependence on natural aluminum resources and contributes to a circular economy. Consequently, slugs made of PCR (post-consumer recycled aluminum) or PIR (post-industrial recycled aluminum) are increasingly preferred by consumers and manufacturers.

The market for aluminum slugs is expected to continue expanding. Key factors driving this growth include the need for eco-friendly packaging, the surging demand for lightweight EV battery parts, and advancements in manufacturing technology. In addition, the growing popularity of agro-based food products is increasing demand for aluminum tubes.
